The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, has called on politicians in the country to participate in politics without bitterness.

Wike, who said this during a thanksgiving service on Sunday, celebrating the President’s rally during the week, also cautioned that no one would be allowed to ridicule the office of the President in the guise of playing politics.

He described Governor Amaechi’s earlier refusal to allow President Jonathan and the PDP use of the stadium for the rally as ‘unchristian’ as the stadium was built with public funds.

He said, “President Jonathan is a president of all Nigerians; he (Jonathan) is not a president of a political party. Therefore, he cannot be stopped from using a stadium built with public funds.

“There is need to de-emphasized negative politicking. We are here to thank God for successfully hosting President Jonathan. We express gratitude to the multitude and the fact that we recorded no casualty.”

He also urged the people of the state to vote President Jonathan, himself and other PDP candidates in the February 2015 general election.
