NSCDC arrests four illegal petrol marketers in Jigawa

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State have arrested four suspects in Dutse Local Government Area for alleged illegal marketing of petrol.
Muhammad Gidado, the NSCDC Commandant in the state, said in Dutse that the suspects were arrested on Kiyawa road by the corps’ personnel patrolling the area.
He said the suspects were arrested in a Toyota bus with registration number XC 430 DUT that was fully loaded with 19 jerry cans containing 25 litres of petrol.
The commandant said that the suspects could not give satisfactory explanation about the source of the commodity during interrogation.
According to him, investigation into the case has commenced to ascertain the source of the petroleum product.
“We have commenced investigation into the case and if the suspects are found culpable, they will be charged to court immediately,’’ he said.
