NLC Elections Stopped as Delegates Clash
The election of a new national executive of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has reportedly ended in chaos in Abuja.
According to reports from Channels Television, aggrieved delegates were seen smashing cameras and emptying ballot boxes as they alleged that the ballot papers were designed to favour one of the candidates vying for the Presidency position.
A new President was to be voted to by over 3,000 delegates on Thursday to replace Adbulwaheed Omar. The candidates are the General Secretary of National Union of Electricity Employees, Joe Ajaero and the President of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Wabba Ayuba.
