Nigerian police in Yobe recover explosives, ammunition from Boko Haram

Following the recent suicide bomb blast in Damaturu north east Nigeria, the Yobe State police command has discovered more explosive devices in the highlander jeep which was on a suicide mission on Monday, reports TVC.

It reported that, the State Commissioner of Police, Marcus Danlandi confirmed that one of the female suicide bombers who laid on the ground, yelling for assistance was cuddling an object that aroused suspicion.

According to the police boss, after the arrival of the bomb disposal unit, they discovered she had in her bag six unexploded mortar bombs concealed in her hijab which they diffused at the scene of the explosion.

While addressing newsmen at the police headquarters, Danlandi revealed that some weapons were also retrieved from Boko Haram insurgents during a gun battle with security operatives at Bara in Gulani Local government area .

Some of the weapons recovered were ; one unit general purpose machine gun, two AK 47 riffles , two AK 47 loaded magazine with 60 rounds, one improvised explosive device IED, and 500 units of general purpose machine gun life ammunition.
