The management of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) has announced that the league season will no longer end on the 13th of October 2013, as originally scheduled.

The closure date has been moved forward to the 20th of October 2013, so as to make way for the body to look into various appeals and complaint and create room for matches that may need to be replayed.

Another reason for the shift in date is the fact that the Super Eagle will play the first of their two leg final 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia on the 13th of October; therefore it would be unwise to end the season on the same day the country’s senior national team would be engaged in such an important match.

Enyimba currently occupy top spot on the league table with 58 points.
