He made the clarification when he appeared before the Senate Committee on States and Local Governments.

Senate leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba explained to the senate the reason why it must step in to save Obudu and other villages under Boki Local Government Area of Cross River state before it is claimed by Cameroon like Bakassi.

The Boundary Commission was summoned to give details on the situation and according to its officials; the country has nothing to worry about.

Mohammed Ahmed, Director General, National Boundary Commission, said, “There is no way we can lose Obudu Ranch or
any other village to Cameroon.”

The senate leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba was however unconvinced with the assurances of the commission.

“They are now projecting a straight line between pillar 113 and 114, and the people are saying ‘no’.”

The commission is expected to reappear before the committee next week while the committee is expected to submit its report to the senate within two weeks.
