Nigeria U-17 Team Qualifies for African Championship
The Golden Eaglets have qualified for the 2015 African U-17 Championship in Niger Republic after thrashing Gabon 5-0 on Saturday at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
Emmanuel Amuneke’s boys won by a 6-2 aggregate score after losing 2-1 in the away fixture earlier, proving the coach right as he has persistently said that his team would qualify despite their first leg defeat.
Captain Kelechi Nwakali opened scoring for the Eaglets from the penalty spot just two minutes into the game and Ebere Osinachi tripled the lead before half time.
Substitute Kehinde Ayinde scored a brace in the second half to complete the rout.
