THE FOLLOWING REPORTS/STATISTICS CONTAINS A SUMMARY OF SELECTED CASES AND NOT THE ENTIRE CASES FOR THE WEEK UNDER REVIEW.

1. RECOVERED VEHICLE/ARREST OF SUSPECTS (LAGOS STATE): On 28.04.2014 at about 8:00PM, upon a tip off Police arrested two suspects at Ketu, one Honda Accord S/car, Reg. No. KJA 012 AE earlier stolen from where parked at a Church in Ojodu area on 29.03.2014 recovered from the hoodlums. State CID Panti is investigating.
2. RECOVERY OF STOLEN VEHICLE/ARREST OF SUSPECT (RIVERS STATE): On 01.05.2014 at about 7:45PM, Police received a distress call of snatched vehicle from the owner. Patrol teams within Prot Harcourt metro were put on alert and the said Green Nissan Sunny car with Reg. no. (withheld) was intercepted by one of the Patrol teams. One Tuoye Yesin ‘m’ aged 21yrs found driving the vehicle was arrested. State CID Port-Harcourt is investigating.
3. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBER/RECOVERY OF WEAPON (DELTA STATE): On 28.04.2014 at about 9:45PM, upon a distress call of robbery at SEDCO road, Enerhen Police patrol teams were dispatched to the scene where the hoodlums were met in the act. There was a shootout and one of the suspects was fatally injured. One (1) cut-to-size gun, four (4) live cartridges and two (2) Nokia phones were recovered from the deceased suspect. Efforts to apprehend other gang members that that fled the scene with gunshot wounds are being intensified, State CID Asaba is investigating.
4. RECOVERY OF WEAPONS/ARREST OF SUSPECT (NASARAWA STATE): On 30.04.2014 at about 6:00PM, Police patrol team along Nasarawa-Loko road in Nasarawa LGA intercepted two male persons and upon a search four (4) locally-made rifles with twenty-two (22) live ammunition were recovered. State CID Lafia is investigating.
5. SUDDEN AND UNNATURAL DEATH (LAGOS STATE): On 01.05.2014 at about 4:00PM, Police received report that a family of seven has been discovered dead in their three (3) bed room flat at Ijede area. Police Detectives visited the scene where the decomposing bodies were found on their beds, no sign of violence on the corpses. Death suspected to be as a result of fume from a generator set found at the scene. Corpses were removed to Ikorodu General Hospital mortuary for autopsy. State CID Panti is investigating.
6. RESCUE OF VICTIM/RECOVERY OF WEAPONS (ANAMBRA STATE): On 03.05.2014 at about 6:45AM, Police operatives in Onitsha intercepted a Red Honda Accord car (reg no withheld) in which one male victim earlier reported kidnapped on 02.03.2014 at Inland Town, Onitsha was rescued. Three (3) AK47 rifles with ten (10) magazines loaded with three hundred (300) rds. of 7.62x39mm live ammunition were also recovered in the car. The suspects fled the scene immediately the car was stopped; efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects. State CID Awka is investigating.
7. FOILED SUICIDE BOMB ATTACK/ARREST OF INSURGENT (YOBE STATE): On 04.05.2014 at about 08:40AM, Policemen attached to ‘A’ Division Damaturu intercepted a Blue Chevrolet pickup vehicle on a mission to blow up the Police Station and kill as many people as possible as it was about to ram into the Police facility. The suspected male suicide bomber driver was apprehended and taken into custody. Police Anti Bomb team moved in to neutralize the explosive devices. The IEDs found at the back of the vehicle are five (5) constructed cylinders loaded with explosives, twenty (20) litres of diesel, ten (10) litres of PMS, one (1) fire extinguisher containing explosives, five (5) 9.5 battery chargers and one (1) wall clock timer.
