Nigeria, Ghana, Cote D’ivoire among Top Seeds for 2015 AFCON Draws
The Confederation of African Football, CAF has named Nigeria as one of the top seeds for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying Draws.
In a ranking based on points system from the 2013 AFCON and performances during the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Nigeria was seeded alongside Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali and Zambia.
The 2015 AFCON will be hosted by Morocco in four cities from January 15 to February 7 and The draw for the qualifiers is scheduled for April 27, 2014 in Cairo, Egypt.
The hosts for the 2019 and 2021 AFCON tournaments will be decided in September. Algeria, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, DR Congo, and Zambia are bidding for 2019 AFCON while Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea are bidding for 2021 AFCON.
