Niger state House of Assembly’s Speaker Impeached
The Speaker of Niger State House of Assembly, Barrister Usman Adamu, has been impeached.
Adamu was impeached by 18 of 27 members and replaced by Isa Kawu of Bida 1 State Constituency immediately.
According to reports, the house of assembly complex was barricaded by over 200 armed policemen as lawmakers were prevented from entering it.
Some lawmakers, however, forced their way into the complex and carried out the impeachment process.
