NFF Members in Dispute over Decision to sack Keshi
The Nigeria Football Federation is reportedly in chaos presently as officials are at war in trying to decide if to give Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi a new contract.
According to reports, some members of the NFF leadership want Keshi to be given a new contract despite failing to qualify Nigeria for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations so that their jobs can be safe as they believe he has ‘powerful friends’.
The opposing majority, however, have refused to bend away from their decision in October to sack Keshi, although the coach was re-instated later on the orders of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The federation has taken further steps in the discord as they have withheld Keshi’s salaries for months, forcing the Sports Minister to directly pay the coach 14 million Naira as salaries for his work in October and November.
Several other coaches who formerly handled the Eagles including Shuaibu Amodu, Christian Chukwu and Adegboye Onigbinde have also advised Keshi to walk away from the job because he has failed.
