New Oyo High Court Judges for swearing-in Thursday
The five legal practitioners recently appointed as High Court judges in Oyo State will be sworn-in on Thursday, June 26, 2014 by the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi at 11 am.
This was contained in a statement issued in Ibadan on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr. Festus Adedayo.
The swearing-in had earlier been fixed for June 20, 2014 but had to be postponed due to the seven-day mourning declared by the state government for the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao.
The statement gave the names of the newly-appointed judges as Mrs. Bolaji Abosede Sikeade, a Deputy Chief Registrar in the state High Court and Mr. Ganiyu Lateef Adebayo, Director, Litigation and Advisory Services II in the state Ministry of Justice.
Others include Mrs. Mojisola Idayat Sule, acting Director, Citizens Mediation Centre, State Ministry of Justice, as well as Mr. Kamorudeen Babatunde Olawoyin and Mrs. Adeyemi Omolara Sherifat who are legal practitioners based in Kano and Ibadan respectively.
The appointment was sequel to the recommendations of the National Judicial Council (NJC).
