National Assembly Sergeant At Arms Is Dead!

The Chief Security officer to the National Assembly and Sergeant at Arms, Col. Emeka Okere (RETD) has passed away.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Senate President, Mr. Paul Mumeh, Okere died in Abuja after a protracted illness following a road accident he had in February 2012.
Lamenting over the death of Mr Okere, Senate president, Senator David Mark said the deceased will surely be missed by the management and staff of the National Assembly.
He described him as a very hard working and passionate officer who believed in the unity of Nigeria. “An intelligent officer who served the nation meritoriously in different capacities”, adding the late Okere lived and truly left his positive foot prints on the sands of time.
