Nasarawa LG Poll: PDP Loses to APC,…wins 4 LGs, APC 6 LGs
The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission has announced the result of Saturday’s local government election in the state,
According to the result announced Sunday night, the ruling party in the state, the All Progressive Congress [APC] won in six local government areas while the opposition Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] won in four.
Election in three local governments were declared inconclusive by the electoral commission. PDP won in Kokona, Keffi, Keana and Nasarawa Eggon local government areas.
APC won in Awe, Doma, Wamba, Karu, Toto, and Lafia local government areas.
The local government where election were declared inconclusive are: Nasarawa, Obi and Akwanga.
Electoral commission’s boss in the State, Abdullahi Modibbo, prevented bloody political crisis that could have happened when he overruled the results of Obi and Akwanga local governments as announced by returning officers saying the elections in those local governments were inconclusive.
Madibo later announced that, elections would be held in four wards in Akwanga and in three wards in Obi local governments..
Akwanga is the local government of Deputy Governor Damishi Luka, who defected from the APC to the PDP recently.
