N123bn fraud: EFCC quizzes former Head of Service, Oronsanye

A former Head of Service of the Federation, Steve Oronsanye, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over issues bothering on corruption while in office.
Orosanye, was summoned to the EFCC headquarters in Wuse 2, on Wednesday for interrogation.
As at about 8.30pm Oronsanye was still with the anti-graft agency.
However, the agency spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren when contacted late Wednesday confirmed to NigerianEcho that, the former HOS was still in their office as at 8.00pm, adding that he may likely be released on administrative bail.
Oronsaye became Head of the Civil Service of the Federation during the regime of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in June 2009 and retired in November 16, 2010.
But sometime in September 2014, the office of the Auditor General of the Federation released a report, which indicted him in N123billion scam.
The 169-page report, entitled “Special Audit of the Accounts of the Civil Pensions”, found Oronsaye guilty of allegedly presiding over the looting of the nation’s resources during his tenure.
