MTV Announces 2014 MTV Movie Awards Nominees
“The Wolf Of Wall Street”, “American Hustle” And “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” led The nominations list At The 2014 MTV Movie Awards. The Annual Fan-Voted Show will be hosted By Conan O’Brien at the Los Angeles Live Nokia Theatre on April 13.
After coming up empty-handed at the Academy Awards, Paramount’s The Wolf of Wall Street with Leonardo DiCaprio and Columbia’s American Hustle will have another shot at taking home awards leading the pack with eight nominations apiece. Following close behind is box-office smash The Hunger Games: Catching Fire with seven nominations and the Jennifer Aniston-Jason Sudeikis comedy We’re the Millers with six.
Best picture Oscar winner 12 Years a Slave, the Anchorman sequel, Dallas Buyers Club, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and This Is the End each received four nominations.
The MTV Movie Awards which has deep pop culture roots will also feature categories like best scared-as-shit performance, best shirtless performance and best musical moment, Signature best kiss category.
Often serving as a kick-off to the summer movie season, the MTV Movie Awards are voted on by the fans. (Voting for most of the categories takes place at www.MovieAwards.MTV.com through April 12, while voting continues during the show for Movie of the Year).
