MTN football scholar train hits Abuja

After a successful outing in the cities of Port Harcourt, Calabar, Akure and Enugu, the audition to the academy of the ongoing season four of MTN Football Scholar has started at the Astro Turf pitch of the national Stadium in Abuja.

This will afford the youngsters living in the federal capital city and its environs to have opportunity to participate in the widely acclaimed annual football scholarship initiative.

Speaking on the initiative on behalf of the company at the Calabar centre of the audition, Joseph Ogbuka, the assistant Manager, Youth Segment, MTN,  described the programme as one of areas where the company is specifically touching the lives of its teeming subscribers through their passions.

“MTN has resolved to always make its consumers better that the way it met them. That is why it is committed to resourceful programmes such as MTN Football Scholar. In three years of its existence the initiative has continued to yield positive results”. He asserted.

After Abuja, the nationwide auditions will move to the commercial city of Lagos. At the close of the auditions, successful candidates will proceed into the Soccer Academy where they are to receive SAT preparation and soccer instruction from A-list Nigerian and American coaches.

Ten winners of the first two editions are currently in top-rated American Universities with full-fledged scholarships funded by MTN, while other ten from the season three will be travelling to the US later this year.
