Mrs Saraki Hosts British MPs, Explains Efforts to Rid Nigeria of infant mortality

Wife of the Senate President, Mrs Toyin Saraki has expressed her unflinching commitment to see that maternal, newborn and child morbidity and mortality become a thing of the past, not only in Nigeria, but across the sub-Saharan Africa region.
Mrs. Saraki stated this when she hosted some British Parliamentarians, Diplomats abd top officials in Abuja. Among Mrs. Saraki’s guests was the former British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Sir Richard Gozney. Sir Gozney was accompanied by a Member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, Honourable Kate Osamor and the Chief Financial Officer of Green Park, Mrs Dawn Spetale.
The discussions, during the visit, centered mainly around Mrs. Saraki’s work with the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), an NGO she started over a decade ago, to improve livelihoods of Nigerians, especially women and children.
Mrs Saraki who thanked Sir Gozney, Hon. Osamor and Mrs Spetale, for visiting the country to discuss issues once running the welfare of the citizenry also spoke about how influential the British government has been in advancing development around the world, especially through the work of the Department for International Development (DfID).
She assured her visitors of her unending passion to see that maternal, newborn and child morbidity and mortality become a thing of the past, not only in Nigeria, but across the sub-Saharan Africa region.
Hon. Osamor particularly praised Mrs Saraki for her passion; hardwork; dedication to saving lives; and her belief in the innate potential for Nigerians, and indeed all citizens of the world, to attain their true potential.
She also spoke about how all WBFA’s activities speak to her role in the British parliament, as Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities, on the Official Opposition frontbench.
Hon. Osamor also spoke glowingly of her Nigerian roots, and how much of an opportunity she sees in Mrs Saraki and her work, to improve the wellbeing of Nigerians.
