Mourinho to Undergo Surgery on Elbow
Chelsea FC manager, José Mourinho, is set to undergo surgery in Paris on a fractured elbow.
The 50-year-old, who was honoured at a Football Writers’ Association gala dinner in London after overseeing Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Manchester United, is believed to have aggravated an old childhood injury. The operation will not prevent him from attending Chelsea’s fourth-round FA Cup tie at home to Stoke City this weekend.
Mourinho reiterated his love for Chelsea at the dinner on Sunday night, saying: “The principles you have in relation to football and life are absolutely amazing, I love this Chelsea Football Club, which has been the only club to have ever sacked me, we as a family belong to you [in] England.
“I belong to Chelsea, Chelsea belongs to me, and hopefully we will stay for many, many years”, Mourinho added.
