Mobile Police Corporal Shoots Self to Death

A police corporal attached to Squadron 12 Police Mobile Force PMF, Minna has allegedly shot himself dead in the early hours of Saturday with an AK 47 rifle assigned to him.
Information has it that, the corporal, Tanko Usman, who was posted to guard one of the second generation banks in Minna reportedly left his duty post parked his motor bike by the road and enter an uncompleted building along Eastern Bye-pass in the city where he reportedly shot himself with his official rifle.
NigerianEcho learnt the noise of the gun attracted the people to the uncompleted building where they see the body of the corporal in pool of his own blood.
The people on discovering the body reported the incident at Maitunmbi Police division from where his squadron was contacted.
Confirming the incident, spokesman for Niger State Police Command, Richard Adamu Oguche, an ASP said, the commander MOPOL 12 and the Divisional Crime officer (DCO) of Maitumbi division visited the scene of the incident and remove the body.
“The fact is that this morning(Saturday) there was a report that a man suspected to be mobile policeman allegedly shot himself in an uncompleted building at Eastern bye-pass and it was discovered he is from 12 squadron Police Mobile force PMF, he shot himself with his service rifle which was also recovered and given back to the squadron commander”.
The body according to him has been deposited at IBB Specialised Hospital ’s Mortuary, Minna.
