Minister Says Nigeria No Longer borrows To Pay Salary
…. Says Recycling Plant Will Be Created In Ogun State
Nigeria no longer borrows to pay Salaries and is now meeting her obligations to the lenders. This was stated by the Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako. He noted this while speaking at the stakeholders meeting of Yewa North All Progressive Congress (APC) which was held in Jogland Hotel at Joga-Orile on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
He assured the people that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would leave a legacy of performance after his tenure. He said Nigeria is a complex country and that many challenges being faced are being resolved.
Salako said, “When we got to the office, what we met was deplorable. As Minister of State for Environment, I have had to experience an embarrassing situation while attending an International event where I was told Nigeria was defaulting in her dues to the organisation. Things have changed as Nigeria is gradually moving away from such. For example, in the Ministry of Environment, we have been able to pay about 5 Million dollars as dues to some of the organisations that we are signatory to.”
He said a Recycling Plant will be established in the State before the end of 2024. He Minister said some of the policies of the administration of President Bola Tinubu will soon yield positive results.
