Military Bans Vehicular Movement in Maiduguri on Christmas Day

The Nigerian military has announced the imposition of total restriction on vehicular movement in Maiduguri, Borno state as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency.

The military, in a statement signed by the Army Public Relations Officer of the headquarters of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army Maiduguri, Col. Sani Usman, claimed that they had information that the terrorist sect plan to strike again in some parts of Borno state particularly Maiduguri metropolis during the Christmas celebration.

The statement which was made available to journalists on Tuesday said the Nigerian Army Division 7 Maiduguri in consultation with the Borno State Government and other security agencies has decided to ban all forms of vehicular movement in the state from 6.00 pm on Wednesday 24th December 2014 to 7.00am Sunday 28th December 2014.
