Messi, Ronaldo and Ribery are the three finalists for FIFA Ballon D’or Awards
The three FIFA Ballon D’or 2013 Awards finalists have been announced and as a lot of soccer fans expected, they are FC Barcelona and Argentina Forward, Lionel Messi; Real Madrid FC and Portugal Forward Christiano Ronaldo; and Bayern Munich and France Midfielder, Franck Ribery.
Also announced were the three finalists of the Women’s World Player Award whom are Brisbane Roar and Germany Goalkeeper, Nadine Angerer; Tyreso FF and Brazil Forward, Marta whom has won the award five consecutive times; and Western New York Flash and USA Forward, Abby Wambach.
The shortlisted Puskas Award nominees are PSG and Sweden Striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (for his goal against England), Benfica and Serbia Nemanja Matic Midfielder (for his goal against Porto); and Barcelona FC and Brazil Forward, Neymar (for his goal against Japan).
Former Manchester United Coach, Sir Alex Ferguson; Former Bayern Munich Coach, Jupp Heynckes; and Borrusia Dortmund Manager, Jurgen Klopp made it to the final Coach of the Year (Men’s) nominees list. While VFL Wolfsburg’s Ralf Kellermann, Germany’s Silvia Neid and Sweden’s Pia Sundhage are the shortlisted nominees of thw Coach of the Year (Women’s) Award.
The WORLD XI forwards shortlist consists of Sergio Aguero (Manchester City;Argentina), Mario Balotelli (AC Milan;Italy), Edinson Cavani (PSG;Uruguay), Diego Costa(Athletico Madrid;Spain), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid;Portugal), Didier Drogba (Galatasaray; Ivory Coast), Radamel Falcao (Monaco;Colombia), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG;Sweden), Robert Lewandowski (Borussia Dortmund;Poland), Mandzukic, Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona;Argentina), Neymar (FC Barcelona;Brazil), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United;England), Luis Suarez (Uruguay;Liverpool), Robin Van Persie (Manchester United;Netherlands).
The winners of the awards will be announced on January 13.2014.
