Magaji Danbatta, respected Northern elder, dies at 83
A respected Northern elder in Kano, Alhaji Magaji Danbatta, has died at the age of 83 after a brief illness.
Danbatta, who was a founding member of the defunct NEPU, died on Wednesday at the Garki General Hospital in Abuja.
One his children, Alhaji Mustapha Danbatta, confirmed the death of the deceased to NAN in Kano on Wednesday.
He said the deceased left behind one wife, four children and many grandchildren.
He said the deceased, who was a veteran journalist, would be buried on Thursday in Kano.
Before his death, Danbatta was the chairman of Kano Elders Forum and a member of the recently-concluded National Conference representing Kano State.
NAN reports that sympathisers have since started trooping to the residence of the deceased along Bala Mohammed road in the Kano metropolis to condole the family.
