Lagos Red Line Rail: Epe Youth Movement Commends Sanwo-Olu
Youth from the Epe axis of Lagos State, under the auspices of Epe Youth Movement (EYM), have commended the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Red line Rail which was commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday, February 29, 2024. Prince Adewale Adepoju, the National Coordinator of the group said Lagos was lucky to have Sanwo-Olu as the Governor.
” We are lucky to have a forward looking, creative and dynamic man as our Governor, Lagos has benefitted immensely from his vison. The Red line is another testimony of his creativity. This Rail will not only ensure safety, but will also turn around the fortune of the state. We are hopeful the second and third phases of the project would see the light of the day soon.
Adepoju however enjoined the people to protect the infrastructures , according to him, ” these are legacy projects that would serve the people for decades to come.”
He wants the Governor not to rest on his oars and continue to bring dividends of democracy to people through this king of projects and others that would enhance the socioeconomic development of the people.
The red line will share the right-of-way with the Lagos-Kano Standard Gauge Railway. The route will initially run from Agbado in Ogun State to Oyingbo in Lagos, with notable stations including Agbado, Iju, Agege, Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba, and Oyingbo. Sanwo-Olu said that the commissioning of the Lagos Red Line project isn’t just about improving the city’s mobility, but about reshaping the urban landscape and setting a new pace for development.
