“Lagos Ports need Expansion”- PCC Chairman

Sharing is caring!

The Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Consultative Council, Chief Kunle Folarin, has urged the Federal Government to expand the Lagos ports by granting more stacking areas so as to allow accommodation of more cargoes.

Folarin who was speaking in an interview with reporters said that the Tin-Can Island port and the Apapa port were overdue for expansion as the Lagos ports corridors are congested.

He said that in appropriate conditions, 3km from the port corridor should be free of commercial activities and this was an important reason for the call for an expansion.

He also advocated the introduction of Greenfield port development programme to service the industry.
