Ladoja is preparing for his conviction, says Oyo APC

Sharing is caring!

The All Progressive Congress (APC), Oyo State chapter, has said that the various derogative statements being made by the leader of the Accord Party and former governor of the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, were a smart way of pre-empting the court judgment Ladojawhich it said would soon convict the former governor for the massive theft of the resources of the state.

The APC made this known in a reply by its Interim Publicity Secretary, Mr. Dauda Kolawole, to the attack by the former governor on the party-led government in the state which accuses it of ineptitude.

“What Ladoja is doing now can be compared to an allocutus by a convict before a judge. He knows that soon and very soon, the judgment of the court would be that he should be convicted for all our shares money misappropriated and sent to concubines and stooges. He knows that the people’s reaction would not be palatable so at every opportunity he has to address the people, he prepares the ground for his conviction,” the APC said.

While urging the former governor not to dissipate energy on spreading falsehood against the state government, the APC said that the most logical thing for Ladoja to do now is ask for the forgiveness of the people of the state and prepare for a long stay in jail.

“It is only in a Third World country like ours that someone who is standing trial for defrauding government would not be sober but preening himself like a turtle-dove and preparing to come back to the same government where he performed woefully. In Oyo State, we have about three of such: Ladoja, Adebayo Alao-Akala and Femi Babalola. What unites these three aspirants who want to contest for governorship in 2015 is EFCC; they are under trial for siphoning billions of the people’s money,” said the APC.

The party said that in the history of the state, no government had brought as much development to the state as the APC government had done.

“Even outsiders who had at one time or the other been to Oyo State, when they come now, curse its past governors for retarding the growth of the state. While they were in the saddle, it was one violence to the other. While Ladoja was full of arrogance and incompetence, which manifested in his not nominating board members for close to two years, Alao-Akala was busy running after his cosmetics. It is only now that the people can point to development and motion,” said the party.
