Labour Party Chieftain decamps to Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun

A chieftain of Ogun State chapter of Labour Party, LP, Omooba Segun Adewale, has decamped to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with his teeming supporters.
Omooba Adewale popularly known as OSA, a media practitioner-turned politician de-camped to the Peoples Democratic Party on Sunday at a rally organised for the purpose at Empire Ground, Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government of Ogun State.
At the occasion attended by PDP financier in the State who is also South West Coordinator, Kashamu Buruji, the party state chairman, Chief Day Bayo; Alhaja Salimot Badru, former Deputy Governor under Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who is now in Labour, Former deputy governor under Chief Olusegun Osoba, Alhaji Raufu Ogunleye, National Auditor of the party, Wale Adeyanju and Agboola Alausa among others, Omooba Adewale announced his intention of joining party and cross-carpet from Labour Party to PDP.
He said: “Many know me to be a staunch member of Labour Party; to this end, I stand to be corrected when I say that I have been a great instrument in the building of Labour Party in Ogun State. But for your sake and for the sake of the course, I have chosen today a party that will help me achieve better my good intentions for you people.
“Today, it is my pleasure to announce to you that I have stepped up to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, the ruling party.
He added that his emergence was “a new direction” as the people of the state were about to experience something new.
“Call it a new dawn, but I call it a breath of fresh air. The rumours are everywhere; the kids even sing it as a song, but today I have come to make it official and public that your humble servant, Omoba Segun Adewale is vying for elective position in the politics of Ogun State. I will be running for the office of Senator representing Ogun West come 2015 and I need your support because without it I won’t cross the threshold of my house,” he stated.
Before his official declaration, Omooba had donated a secretariat to his new found party, which was commissioned by the party bigwigs who came for his declaration.
In his speech, State Party Chairman, Chief Bayo said the party was delighted to have the new entrant in its fold. He said the PDP remained relevant at any time in the nation politics and governance adding that the party will, in 2015, take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
