Labaran Maku Promises Women in Nasarawa State 35% Political Allocations if Elected
The Minister of information, Mr. Labaran Maku has vowed that he will allocate over 35% of political positions in Nasarawa state to women, if elected president in the 2015 elections.
Maku promised to include women in the politics of the state as it was part of the highlights of the Goodluck-Ebele-Jonathan administration.
He said: “All the women serving in the administration of President Jonathan have performed credibly in their respective areas.
“If my boss has given 35 per cent of appointments to women and they have done well, as a believer in the transformation agenda of this administration, I will even do more,” he said.
He also used the avenue to encourage women and the people of the state to obtain their permanent voter cards by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enable them to vote.
