La Liga: Barcelona Seal Perfect Start to Season with 5-0 Win over Levante
Barcelona continued their perfect start to the new Spanish La Liga season with an almost perfect 5-0 victory over bottom side Levante at Ciutat de Valencia.
The Catalans now have four wins from four league matches and kept a fourth straight clean sheet as goals from Neymar, Ivan Rakitic, Sandro, Pedro and Lionel Messi sealed victory for Luis Enrique’s men.
The match, which was also marked by a missed penalty by Messi after Loukas Vyntra was dismissed and a premature exit by Neymar in the second half after an ankle injury, ensured Levante’s further stay at the bottom with no goals and just one point from their opening four matches.
Barcelona now lead the La Liga table with 12 points, Sevilla follow in second place with 10 points while last season champions, Atletico Madrid, are in third place with 8 points. UEFA Champions league champions, Real Madrid, lie in Seventh place with 6 points.
