Keshi warns Foreign-Based Eagles of Stiff Competition for Eagles’ shirt
Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, has asked foreign based Players to be ready for stiff competition ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil as some of the Nigerian bm ased players currently in camp for CHAN 2014 are good enough to challenge the foreign professionals for shirts.
According to a statement from Ben Alaiya, the spokesperson for the national men football’s team, the Eagles boss told Ideye, and by extension his foreign based colleagues, that they have a battle on their hands as he has discovered new home based players who are ready to challenge for shirts in all the positions ahead of the World Cup.
Ideye however took the latest challenge in good faith as he was said to have simply replied “Sir, they are all welcome, the more the merrier”, with a smile. Ideye further assured the Big Boss that he was in good shape and despite the holidays he has been keeping fit and getting set for the restart of the Ukrainian season as well as the Eagles preparations for the World Cup in Brazil.
He also said he believes that despite the departure of some key players from the home based Eagles the team still has the potential to shock the continent at the CHAN tourney.
“My mates will do well at the CHAN tourney because we have a good team and a very good technical crew backed by a performing NFF,” he said.
