Keshi reveals He’s still without a New Contract Even After NFF Crisis Ends
Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, has revealed there are currently no talks over his future with the team though the crisis rocking the Nigerian Football Federation has been resolved.
Keshi, whose contract ended after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in June, said his future remains uncertain as negotiations with the federation over his contract have been stalled.
“There are no contract talks yet, because there is no president (of the NFF); there is none at the moment and discussions are supposed to be between him and me, and we take it from there,” he said on Wednesday. “Whatever I’m doing now is just for us to move ahead and ease things for the next game.”
Nigeria will host Sudan in Abuja on October 11 and hope to qualify for AFCON 2015 in Morocco, having strained the chances after a loss to Congo on home soil and a draw with South Africa.
Discussing how far he has gone with his team selection, Keshi said: “It’s still too early to come out with a list, but I am working on it, it should be out by next week.
“Changes? I am not sure, but we will see how it goes. I think what is most important now is to get our qualifier back on track and we are working towards that.”
