Keshi Impressed with Ike Uche’s Return
The head coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, has revealed why he returned to manage the team after being sacked by the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation executive committee.
Keshi revealed in an interview on Wednesday that his “boss”, presumably President Goodluck Jonathan, ordered him to return to the helm of affairs.
“My boss asked me to come back, that is the sole reason for my coming back, it was simply because the boss ordered me back to the team, I cannot say no to him; we will see and continue from where we stopped working and keep building,” he said.
He also addressed the fact that fans of the national team called for the termination of his appointment, saying “God knows everything, and that anyone can say what they deem fit”.
About the recall of Ike Uche to the Super Eagles and the arrival of the Eagles in the training camp in Abuja, he said: “It is good to see him back to them team, I am very happy to see him, players like him make a Coach feel great. So far I’m impressed with what I have seen, there is a total commitment and cooperation between the players, if we can keep that level today, tomorrow up till Saturday we will be good.”
