Keshi calls Up David Obizor to replace Enyeama for AFCON Qualifiers
Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, has invited David Obiazor, El-kanemi’s goalkeeper, to the 23-man squad for the 2015 first leg qualifier against Congo in Calabar.
Obiazor is set to replace Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, who withdrew from the qualifying matches for personal reasons.
In a press statement signed by the team’s spokesperson, Keshi said: “We have been monitoring the Nigerian league and we see that the keeper of Elkanemi is a talent that is why we want to give him a trial. We will see how it turns out when he comes to camp.”
More than seventeen players have arrived at the Super Eagles’ camp, including Ahmed Musa, Ogenyi Onazi, Efe Ambrose, Kenneth Omeruo, Juwon Oshaniwa, Sone Aluko, John Mikel Obi and standing captain, Austin Ejide.
According to the press statement, the spirit in camp is very buoyant and Keshi says he expects the best from the players on Saturday in the game against Congo.
