Kano Assembly PDP Members Decamp To APC En mass
Twenty seven members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kano State House of Assembly yesterday announced their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
During the plenary session presided over by the Deputy Speaker Isyaku Ali Danja, the law makers presented a letter which contained their names and constituencies to formally declare their defection to APC. The members said the decision was taken following consultations with their constituents on whether to follow the state governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who joined the party in December.
Those who dumped the PDP include the Deputy Speaker, Majority Leader Hamisu Ibrahim, His Deputy Yusuf Babangida, Chief Whip Abdullahi Iliyasu Yaryasa and the former Speaker of the House, Yusuf Abdullahi Falgore.
However, the Speaker of the house, Gambo Sallau alongside Abubakar Uba Galadima, member representing Bebeji, Shu’aibu Tambai Dokadawa of Rimingado/Tofa and Lawan Safiyanu Gogori from Bagwai/Shanono were absent during the sitting of the house.
