Kaduna Police parades dare-devil robbers, rail line vandals

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested seven suspected armed robbers that specialised in snatching cars at gun point and a six-man gang that specialised in vandalising rail track lines that link Kaduna to Abuja.

The State Police Commissioner, Umar Shehu, while parading the suspects revealed that, the suspected vandals who were arrested by his men on a routine patrol along Gimi Village in Makarfi Local Government Area were staffs of Nigerian Railway Corporation.

According to him, the suspects were conveying 27 pieces of rail track line when his men intercepted their lorry.

The police boss also revealed that 15 vehicles of different brands were recovered from four of the suspected car snatchers and that they were arrested in the state capital.

One of the suspected car thieves nabbed according to the commissioner confessed to have stolen over 80 cars within four months.

The police also paraded a 53 year old Fulani herdsman, Iliyasu Adamu, who was arrested for possessing an AK49 rifle with 14 rounds of live ammunition at Akwaya Daji Awon district in Kachia Local Government Area.

The commissioner who said his men were able to make the arrests through public collaboration promise that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations into their cases were concluded.
