JTF killed 60 suspected insurgents in Jigawa
At least sixty suspected insurgents were confirmed death on Wednesday night after exchange of gunfire with Join Military Task Force at Lamba Forest in Gwaram local government area of Jigawa state.
This was confirmed by the Director of Press to the Jigawa state governor, Malam Umar Kyari in Dutse the Jigawa state capital, who said the insurgents who were suspected to be Boko Haram, planted a bomb on the road along the forest last monday night which exploded and led to the death of three soldiers in a JTF Hilux convoy while many sustained serious injuries.
Report indicated that, the following night of Wednesday, the team of JTF popularly known as operation Salama in the state was said to have surrounded and bombarded the forest during the operation which consequently led to the killing of the insurgents.
His words:-”Around eleven o’clock of Wednesday night, the military commander who lead the operation, told The state governor that over sixty copses of the insurgent were found scatted in the forest”.
