President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to give women 45 percent political appointment if he is re-elected as president in the March 28 election.

The first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, said this while speaking to women of the Peoples Democratic Party in Makurdi, Benue State, urging them to support the President’s second term bid.

She said that the 10 per cent increase from the initial 35 per cent affirmative action would be to reward female public office holders for the good job they had been doing.

Present at the venue to support the First Lady were Governor Gabriel Suswam, his wife, Yemisi Suswam, the PDP women leader, Kema Chikwe and Sophie Terzor, wife of the PDP governorship candidate in Benue, who assured the first lady of their total support.
