Jonathan Sacks Service Chief
President, Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday sacked Nigeria’s service chiefs . New officers have taken over with immediate effect. Air Marshal Alex Badeh is now the Chief of Defence Staff. He took over from Admiral Ola Ibrahim.
Major General Kenneth Tobiah Minimah replaced Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika as the new Chief of Army Staff. Air vice Marshal Adesola Amosu is the new Chief of Air Staff replacing Air Marshal Badeh, the new Chief of Defence Staff. Rear Admiral Usman Jibrin named the Chief of Naval Staff.
The state of insecurity in some parts of the Country that seems to defy all tactics by the security agencies may be responsible for these changes. Particularly, the Boko Haram insurgents have killed many people in the Northern part of Nigeria.
