Jonathan sacks NNPC’s GMD, appoints Dawha as replacement
President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday announced the replacement for Engineer Andrew Yakubu as the Group Managing director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation , NNPC.
Dr. Joseph Thlama Dawha has been appointed as the new GMD of the NNPC with immediate effect.
A statement by the presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, also named Anthony Ugonna Muoneke as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company.
The statement also announced the appointment of Aisha Mata Abdurrahman as the Group Executive Director of Commercial and Investment and Dr. Attahir B. Yusuf as the Group Executive Director of Business Development of the NNPC respectively.
Dawha, according to the statement, hails from Borno State. He has served previously as the Group Executive Director of Exploration and Production of the NNPC and Managing Director of Integrated Data Services Limited, a subsidiary of the NNPC.
Muoneke, the new Managing Director of the NPDC, hails from Anambra State.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985.
He has over 29 years experience at both local and international levels in the oil and gas as well as the energy and power sectors, including serving as the Executive Director of Finance and Administration of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited.
All the appointments, according to Abati, are with immediate effect.
