Jonathan Appoints 12 New Judges
Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, through a release by the Deputy Director of Information at the National Judicial Council, Mr. Soji Oye, approved the appointments of twelve new Federal Judges. Oye said the appointments were based on the recommendation of the Council.
The Judges who will be inaugurated on Monday, 28th May 2012 by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Dahiru include: the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Justice, Sokoto State, Mohammed Lawal Abubakar; the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel; a Deputy Chief Registrar at the Imo State High Court, Mrs. Evelyn N. Anyadike; the Deputy Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Mrs. Folashade O. Giwa-Ogunbanjo; and a Chief Magistrate in Rivers State, Mrs. Chinda Ruhuoma S. Adele.
Others are four private legal practitioners: Nganjiwa Hyeladzira Ajiya, Mrs. Oluremi Omowumi Oguntoyinbo, Mrs Fatun O. Riman, and Uche Nma Agomoh (Miss). The list also includes Secretary of the National Judicial Institute, Mrs. Ayua Pheobe Msuean; and the Deputy Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice, Gombe State, Musa Haruna Kurya as well as Suleiman A. Aliyu, the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Kebbi State.
