Isiaka Wants INEC to be wary of the “antics” of Amosun
The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, Gboyega Isiaka has called on the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, to be wary of the antics of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
Isiaka said this through his the Director of Media of his campaign team, Comrade Ifekayode Akinbode.

PROTOCOLS:
1. Ladies and gentlemen, just over a week ago, the Presidential and National Assembly elections held nationwide with a lot of challenges and inadequacies. Though the elections has been given a passmark, and those that lost have conceded defeat; it is not yet uhuru. For us in Ogun state, the failure of a lot of our citizens in many local government areas to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) was a major talking point before the election .
2. The gubernatorial candidate of our Party, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka had cause to raise an alarm over the uneven and suspected clandestine distribution of the cards in a manner that seem to disenfranchise a section of the state in favour of another section. INEC said there was nothing of such and also provided some more cards shortly before the poll. Notwithstanding all these, information available to us and events around our state in the last two days calls for serious concern.
3. While the results of last Saturday’s election may have slightly favoured the APC, we now have cause to doubt the validity of the total results if what we now know is anything to go by. It has come to our notice that the Governor of Ogun state Sen. Ibikunle Amosun has purchased many of the uncollected PVCs for underhand use of the APC. While, Ogun INEC said about 400,000 cards remain uncollected, many of these cards are now in the possession of Amosun.
4. This plot according to what we learnt is the first in the line up of a system which the APC wants to depoy in rigging the gubernatorial and House of Assembly polls on Saturday; sensing that they will lose due to the growing unpopularity of Amosun and his party in Ogun state. Firstly, this fading government has concluded arrangements recruit young APC supporters that will be clothed and serve as youth corpers for the election.
5. The grand plot is to give the purchased PVCs to members of their party and then push them to polling units where the impostor corps members are posted. This way, the cards will not be verified since everyone knows the plot. At such locations, huge votes will be returned for the APC to the detriment of the PDP and the unsuspecting voters.
6. A good pointer that lent credence to our submission was the recent discovery of hundreds of PVCs with one Mr. Saubana Adekunbi, who is an elder brother to the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi. This to all intent and purpose is a clear confirmation of the plot.
7. Secondly, we also have it on good authority that the Amosun regime plans to disenfranchise a lot of civil servants in the state due to their perceived inclination to vote against the regime. The plan is to block access to PVCS by the workers especially in areas where they are located. This is very ludicrous and shameful. It is a crass display of desperation by Amosun and his party.
8. Furthermore, they have also concluded plans to disrupt the electoral process with thugs and some commercial drivers loyal to Alhaji Akeem Adeosun (aka Jango) who is Chairman of a faction of one of the transport unions in Ogun state. This is coming against the backdrop of the fact that the NURTW is a transport partner to INEC. We are therefore sounding a note of warning to both parties to be appropriately guided.
9. Importantly, we use this medium to warn Sen. Amosun and the APC not to contemplate any of these plots that have now been uncovered. Any attempt to truncate the popular wish of the people will be met with stiff resistance. The Gboyega Nasir Isiaka Campaign Organization has conducted the campaign with utmost decorum and are confident of winning the election on Saturday. The people have rejected Amosun and he must not drag the state down with him.
10. Finally, we call on Professor Attahiru Jega and INEC to be very careful in its conduct of Saturday’s election. The will of the majority must be respected. INEC must place great watch on the Electoral Officers (EO) of the five local government areas of Ogun west senatorial district; whose conducts in last Saturday’s election was less than honourable. We shall not accept any attempt to collude with the current administration to perpetuate a failed governor that has been rejected by the masses. On Amosun must go we stand.
