Isiaka preaches love, spirit of sacrifice at Eld-el-Kabir
The Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka has felicitated with all Muslims in Nigeria as they mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to imbibe the lessons of sacrifice and love which the festival signify.
Isiaka in a message on Wednesday, specifically enjoined Ogun indigenes to use the unique period of Eid-el-Kabir festival to pray for the state to come out of its various socio-economic challenges that are threatening security of lives and property, which had forced the government to impose partial curfew in the state.
While urging all Ogun State residents to show love for one another, he noted that the festival provides a new opportunity to show compassion especially for the less privileged, stressing that, “only peaceful co-existence, selflessness service to the nation especially our dear state, and total obedience to God, as was demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim could take the state to the promised land”.
Isiaka, who is still challenging the victory of Governor Ibikunle Amosun at the tribunal noted that Eid-el-Kabir is a celebration of trust between man and God, rooted in the fulfillment of promises and urged the people to always hold their leaders accountable and ensure they deliver on their promises.
He said, “The significance of the celebration today is not in the blood or the flesh of the rams that are being slaughtered, the message is for people to be honour bound to respect the terms of promises made to other entities. I urge the Muslim faithful to remember that obedience to Allah and uprightness are some of the virtues of a true worshiper”.
