Isiaka berates APC over allegation of buying PVC
The allegation by the All Progressive Congress (APC) that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has been purchasing Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) from unsuspecting electorates as been described as “untrue” and a grand design to prepare the minds of APC dwindling supporters of imminent defeat.
The National Publicity of the APC, Lai Mohammed had at a press statement widely published in the media on Wednesday alleged that his party had proof that electorates at Kobape Orile Imo along Shagamu, Ogun State had been offered cash in exchange of their PVC.
Reacting to the allegation, Ogun State PDP governorship candidate , Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka yesterday said the allegation was not only “laughable but shows that the national secretariat of the APC is aware of the new song in Ogun State that ‘Amosun Must Go’ (AMG) and the party is jittery about it.
He told the APC that no amount of blackmail will safe Amosun from the total rejection that awaits him on April 11, this year.
Isiaka who spoke through the Director General of his campaign organisation Mr Ifekayode Akinbode, however urged the security agencies to investigate the allegation and make public their findings.
Akinbode berated the APC for the outlandish allegation which he described as “unfounded and ridiculous”.
Akinbode said, “It is rather unfortunate that APC spinners could stoop so low in raising false alarm instead of apologising to the people of the state for plunging them into unnecessary debt to execute contracts that were beneficial to their godfather”.
“How can anybody think of such allegation of buying PVC at N10,000 in a state like Ogun but this shows their character as they usually resort to lies and propaganda whenever they face certain defeat in an election.”
Akinbode accused Amosun of entrenching anti-people policies that had left the people impoverished. He noted, “Today in Ogun, secondary school students can not write examinations for two consecutive terms because government could not pay the N180m it owes printers of examination papers. No single infrastructure has been added to all the tertiary institutions and health facilities since 2011. The livelihood of the people is daily demolished on the altar of road expansion at the incredible cost of N1.4b per kilometre; the most expensive in the sub sahara Africa.
“More importantly, the Governor has not kept to a single promise he made in 2011 especially in the areas of health, education and employment generation.
“The people now know Amosun and his party for what they truly represent and are determined to vote out the irresponsible and reckless administration in April 11 election.
“They have sensed the imminent loss and have become desperate, hence the resort to subterfuge and false alarm and recruited the APC liar-in-chief, Lai Muhammed who is always a willing hand for such hatchet job”.
Akinbode urged the people of Ogun State not to be hoodwinked by the many lies of Amosun and his co-travelers.
“Nigerians should reject a party of ultra-capitalist that believes in awarding heavy construction contracts with the aim of looting our common purse. In Ogun at the moment, all projects have been abandoned and the only site where work is ongoing is the governor’s multi-billion private residence at Ibara GRA”, Akinbode said.
