Isiaka at 53 promises purposeful leadership
The Ogun State governorship candidate Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka on Tuesday promised to use all his knowledge and experience to develop the state, if elected in the April 11, this year election.
Isiaka, who spoke during the inter-religious service, organised by both Christians and Muslims community in Imeko, Ogun State to mark his 53 birthday anniversary said, the state is in dire need of a selfless leader that will manage the resources of the state with the fear of God and give a better foundation for future generation.
He said he was in politics to make positive changes in the lives of the people and make life more abundant for them.
Dignitaries at the prayer session included his running mate Mr Tunde Makanjuola, former chairman of the PDP Chief Joju Fadairo, Olotu Dipo Sofowora, Ogun West PDP senatorial candidate, Hon Waliu Taiwo, Yewa North/Imeko Afon House of Representative candidate Evangelist Titus Eweje and Chief Saka Isiaka.
Isiaka, who was full of gratitude to God for sparing his life to celebrate another birthday said, “Yes, I grew up in Imeko, I spent the first 16 years of my lIfe in this community and I know what is called poverty and deprivation but I thank God that despite the vicititude of life, I can stand tall to represent hope of better tomorrow which the state needs now. Our state is in need of a visionary leader, a prudent manager of human and material resources, we need a leader that will set our priority right as a state and deliver dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of the state. We need to expand our economy to increase our income and provide jobs for our unemployed youths and we need to institute a social security scheme that will cater for the poor and vulnerable”.
He, however, said that Ogun State had in the last three and half years been governed by a government that is full of deceit. According to him, “There has been much propaganda than the actual work we can see in this state in the last three and half years. The government found it difficult to speak truth about how much spent on projects despite the facts that most of these projects are not well thought out before execution. We have challenged them to make public the debit profile of the state, but they could not. Our people must say no this Shenanigans and vote out All Progressive Congress (APC) in the next Presidential and governorship elections.
“Isiaka, who appealed to the people in Ogun West Senatorial District to vote for all the candidates of the PDP said the party has shown more commitment to the aspiration of Yewa/Awori people than any other political party in the State.
He said it was not by accident that the Zone had not produced a governor since the creation of the state in 1976 but some powerful interest groups had been working to deny Yewa/Awori the opportunity, “but they have failed this time around because we have seen through their antics”.
He said, “Though we all know that another political party brought another gubernatorial candidate few weeks to the election from Yewa/Awori. They have the right to do so, but I remain the symbol of Yewa/Awori struggle and we are not losing a sleep about that because PDP remains the better alternative to the party in power in Ogun State.
Waxing optimistic that he will win the election with a wide margin, Isiaka appealed to all his supporters to remain calm and peaceful despite provocative actions from the members of the ruling party in the state and urged all his supporters to go and collect their Permanent Voters Card (PVC).
He also visited the Celestial City in Imeko where the Shpehered in charge of Celestial Church of Christ world wide Reverend/Pastor Mobiyina Oshoffa prayed for him and urged him to fulfil all his campaign promises.
