INEC urges Nigerians to Collect PVCs after Distributing over 70%
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has urged Nigerians to pick up their Permanent Voter Cards, saying they have till the end of January to do so.
The Chief Press Secretary to the chairman of the commission, Kayode Idowu, said this in an interview on Friday, saying that as of January 7, 2015, INEC had distributed 38,774,219 cards out of a total of 54,341,610 that it recieved.
The commission urged the electorates to claim the remaining 15,567,219 cards saying: “All those who have registered are urged to visit their local government areas where they registered to collect their PVCs.
“They can do this till the end of January. The collection would enable them vote in the forthcoming elections.”
