INEC Asks APC to replace Audu, Kogi supplementary Elections slated for December 5

The Independent National Electoral Commission , INEC, has set December 5th for the conduct of supplementary election in Kogi State.
The gubernatorial election which took place on November 21, was declared inconclusive by the electoral umpire. A new twist was however set in when the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abubakar Audu, died the second day of the election just as the results were being collated. Audu was leading in the election but closely followed by the incumbent Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Capt. Idris Wada.
In a statement signed by the Secretary of INEC, Mrs. Augusta C. Ogakwu, stated that the supplementary election in the affected 91 polling units will come up on December 5th. INEC however asked APC to replace Audu with another candidate.
A source within the camp of the PDP who didn’t want his name mentioned told NigerianEcho that the party will challenge this move. The source said this was an ambush by the ruling party to sway things in its favour.
