INEC Announces Distribution of 95% PVCs in Kebbi state

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the distribution of over 95% of Permanent Voter Cards in Kebbi state, ahead of Saturday’s Elections.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Zarewa, on Sunday revealed this during a sensitisation programme organised by the commission for the electorate in the area.

He said that out of 1.4 million registered voters in the state, 1.3 million had collected their PVCs, and that 13,500 ad hoc staff had been trained to participate in the elections.

He also disclosed that during the elections, there would be separate queues for men and women in accordance with the religious and cultural values of the people and that elderly and disabled people will be handled specially.

He urged political parties to advise their supporters to adhere to the electoral laws and assist INEC to ensure a hitch-free election.
