IGP on operational visit to Yobe State, 9 Officers get Special Promotion

Nigeria Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has given nine rank and file special promotion to their next rank with immediate effect.

IGP Solomon Arase, promoted the rank and file members of Yobe police command on Saturday while on the spot assessment of the security situation of the state.

Arase at the ocassion promised officers and men of Yobe state Police command of timely and adequate welfare as he promoted posthumously the three policemen who recently paid the supreme price in a suicide bomb attack.

He also offers automatically scholarships to their children up to university level.

The nine members of the rank and file who were given automatic promotion to their next rank, according to police sitrep were awarded the promotion for their gallant performance which was brought to the attention of IGP.

The IGP also intimated the officers and men on the welfare package of current administration which includes the new police housing scheme targeting particularly the inspectors rank and file in the first phase which will be completed in the next three months.

The houses, the sitrep stated will comprise of 3 and 2 bedrooms apartments.

The police boss expressed satisfaction at the level of commitment of officers and men of the command and demanded that they keep the flag flying.

In his closing remarks DCP Garba Patrick, thanked the IGP for visiting the command, a visit he believes will go a long way in boosting the morale of the men who hitherto had felt neglected.

The IGP in recognition of the contribution of the Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe state command ASP Gbadegesin Toyin Joshua in proper management of the reputation of the police in the state, announced the award of IGP’S commendation to him.
