IGP ARASE COMMISERATES WITH AWOLOWO FAMILY IN IKENNE
The Inspector General of Police IGP Solomon Arase today, Sunday, 27th September, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo in Ikenne, Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State to commiserate with the family on the death of Mama HID Awolowo, wife of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who passed on Saturday 19th September, 2015.
IGP Solomon Arase, who was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police Ogun State, CP Abdulmajid Ali, Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Fatai Owoseni, Commissioner of Police COOPERATIVE, CP Dorathy Gimba, ACP Bisi Kolawole, the Police Force Public Relations Officer, AC Abiodun ALABI etc, delivered a condolence message on behalf of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force. He stated that the death of Mama HID has created a big vacuum that could only be filled by God Almighty.
He described mama as a Special woman who had Served God, mankind and our dear country, Nigeria, diligently in all areas. He stated further that mama was an icon and blessing to this country
The IGP was received by the children of mama HID Awolowo and family members including Dr Mrs Olatokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu, Reverend Mrs Omotola Oyediran, members of the Young Men Christians Association of Nigeria, Anglican Communion Ikenne and well wishers.
On behalf of the entire Awolowo DYNASTY, Reverend Mrs Omotola Oyediran appreciated the Inspector General of Police and officers and men of the Police for their concern and support.
The IGP however promised the family of Awolowo adequate security before, during and after the burial rites of mama HID Awolowo since all hands will be on deck for effective policing in the town and in Ogun State in general during the ceremony.
IGP ARASE also reaffirmed the police commitment to tackle crimes and social vices in the country with a view to having people-oriented policing in the country.
